From the garden

There is something very satisfying about eating food you've grown yourself.  For example the salad I had this evening (lettuce, spinach, chives, basil, tomato) were all ingredients from my garden.  I am so excited to see things growing and anticipating using them.

We are growing:

  • peas
  • beans
  • carrots
  • tomatoes
  • lettuces
  • capsicums (bell peppers)
  • spinach
  • broccoli
  • cauliflower
  • various herbs
  • spring onions
  • strawberries
  • grapes (two varieties, but they won't fruit until Jan/Feb)
  • Other fruit trees non summer
It is truly awesome!

  1. Mmm, yum! I've never grown my own food but my dad had an awesome garden when I was growing up. I'm jealous of all the yummy fresh fruits and veggies that you will have. Not to mention the workout you'll get planting, weeding and harvesting. Enjoy!

  2. I usually do herbs and tomatoes, and have a pretty impressive raspberry patch, but have never had space for much more. I'd love to be able to grow greens (spinach and arugula especially) for entire salads. Oh, how dreamy! Got any pics of your garden?
